Santai

Santai, translated from an Indonesian word meaning 'at ease', is a fluid formed furniture designed to follow the natural resting positions of a targetted user. In creating the form, I took 5 stationary positions from a potential user and made measurements of essential body parts. Out of these positions, the user picked three that the user felt the most comfortable. Using Rhino 3D and Grasshopper, I placed curve points along the postures to create a morph of the shapes across each surface of the form.
